Get Connected Here
Church is more than Sunday mornings; it's people doing life together and building a community to support and encourage one another. When you're ready to get more connected to the community at Calvary, there are a lot of ways to do that. Pick an entry point or two that suits you and come do life with us.
It's a gathering that gives you a chance to meet some of our pastors and staff. We'd love to get to know you! This relaxed evening in a casual setting is a great time to ask questions and learn a little more about our church.
Use your talents to help the church and get to know some more people at the same time. Serving on a team is a great way to meet others and start making a big church feel just the right size. We'll help you find a role that uses your skills and gifts to make a difference in our church community.
Starting Point is an easy way to begin your journey with Calvary. It's our membership course for those considering joining the church, and also a place to continue learning what it means to be a faithful Christ-follower. This 3-session (or 1 turbo-session) course is offered quarterly.
Life Groups are the heart of Calvary's community. In a group, people get real with one another and build relationships of mutual trust and encouragement. Groups talk together, serve together, and grow in Christ together. New Life Groups launch twice a year in January and September.
You May Be Asking
How early should I arrive before service?
Our Sunday morning worship services are at 8:15a, 9:45a, and 11:15a. We recommend arriving approximately fifteen minutes prior so that you’ll have plenty of time to find a parking space and a seat in the worship center. Overflow parking is in the Thomas Jefferson Middle School stadium lot next door.
What do I need to do when I arrive?
We have guest parking marked near our main entrance. As you enter the facility, you’ll be greeted by a member of our Guest Connections team, who can direct you to the Worship Center or the Calvary Kids check-in area and answer any questions you have. Stop by Guest Services, just outside the Worship Center, to pick up a gift before or after the worship service.
What is a worship service like at Calvary?
A worship service is one-hour long with 25-30 of worship music and a 30 minute sermon. A staff pastor will welcome guests and the church community, encourage those present to greet one another, and lead a prayer before the offering. Worship music at Calvary is contemporary and people are encouraged to participate in worship by standing, clapping, and singing.
What kind of sermon will I hear?
Our teaching team is passionate about preaching through the Bible verse-by-verse. A typical sermon lasts approximately 30-35 minutes and ties biblical principles to life application. The pastor’s outline is provided on the Calvary app and on projector screens in the Worship Center. Listeners are encouraged to follow along in their Bibles or with a Bible app.
What is available for my children?
Calvary Church is committed to caring for our kids and teens. On Sunday mornings, we have child care for infants through 5-year-olds as well as a dynamic teaching and worship experience designed for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. The Children’s Welcome Center is located to right of the main entrance as you enter the church building. Staff will help you check your children into our secure children’s ministry. Learn more about our Calvary Kids programs.
Middle and high school students are encouraged to participate in worship services on Sunday morning or volunteer in one of our many ministry areas. On Sunday evenings, Calvary Students meets for their own worship gathering with relevant teaching, great music, and a lot of fun.
What should I wear to services?
Dress however you feel most comfortable. Most of our community dresses semi-casual, although you’ll see both dress attire and jeans and tshirts in our services.
